ACTIVITIES AT LOYOLA

Jesuit education may be described as formation takings place over a length of time. It aims to go beyond mere schooling and simple instructions. In our students we are dealing with impressionable persons of great dignity whose worth in their own eyes and God’s, we are to encourage them to see. We confront them with challenges to excellence in order that they may appreciate and foster their talents.

To help our students discover and foster their talents, Loyola provides various activities like:
 

1. The Students council, whose purpose is to unite the students in the pursuit of excellence in studies and all the values and aims of the school. Its President is elected by the Plus-Two students, and the Councilors or the student representatives by the students of standard 7 to 12.  

2. Various Clubs: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, History, Mathematics, etc. 
3. For self-expression: Elocution, Extempore are conducted regularly. Debating, Dramatics, Press Club etc. 
4. Social service & Leadership camps, the House system, the Interact Club, the Bharat Scouts & Cubs, the JYOTI organization, etc. 
5. The Drums and Bugle Corps. (D.B.C.) 
6. Bodily health and Sportsmanship: Annual Sports Day, Athletics, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, the newly opened Gymnasium etc. 
7. Excellent facilities for reading through the School Libraries.
